PURPOSE: A composition containing Rahnella aquatilis-derived glycoproteins for enhancing immunity is provided to promote the generation of inflammatory cytokines and to function as an adjuvant which increases antibody production in a mouse in vivo. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for enhancing immunity contains glycoproteins derived from Rahnella aquatilis as active ingredients. The glycoproteins promote generation of inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-6 (IL-6), interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma), or tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha). The glycoproteins increase generation of immunoglobulin G (IgG), IgG1, or IgG2a. A food composition for enhances immunity the glycoproteins as active ingredients.
