Method and receiver for GNSS antenna switching on a rotating carrier

The method involves calculating a direction of a satellite for a carrier of satellite signals. Gains of antennas (A1-An) in a useful band centered on a rotatable carrier of the satellite signals are estimated in the direction of the satellite. Power received by each antenna is measured. Pseudo signal-to-noise ratios are calculated based on a difference between the estimated gains in the direction of the satellite and power measurement received by the antennas. The signal-to-noise ratios are compared for acquisition or tracking of the satellite signals by digital processing channels (C1-Cn). An independent claim is also included for a multi-antenna receiver for receiving signals from a satellite positioning system mounted in a rotatable carrier.
