PURPOSE: A method for operating an application using sound is provided to activate the application installed in a wireless terminal with sound codes. CONSTITUTION: A method for operating an application using sound is as follows: a step of storing an application identification (AID) for the application to be activated by sound signals among applications installed in a wireless terminal (320); a step of detecting encoded data from the sound signals inputted by a microphone; a step of confirming the application corresponding to the AID of the detected data if the detected data matches with an AID format; and a step of activating the confirmed application.
