<p>A first fabric portion 12 has first 16 and second 18 outer surfaces between which extends a first end or edge (20, figure 3) which may be inclined relative to the surfaces. A second fabric portion 14 has a third outer surface 30 against which the second outer surface 18 of the first portion 12 is secured in abutment by a first stitch formation 32. End (20) of the first portion 12 is secured in abutment against the third outer surface 30 of the second portion 14 by a second stitch formation 34 which preferably comprises a needle thread 40 and a bobbin thread 44 of a bar tack stitch formation. The first portion 12 and first stitch formation 32 may extend beyond the confines of the second portion 14 and may be cut back to within those confines using a tool inserted between the portions. The end of the first portion may then be cut at the angle prior to forming the second stitch formation. Tools for performing these cutting operations are disclosed including a tool for performing both cutting operations. The construction may be used where comfort is of importance such as breast support garments.</p> |
