[Class 83 (iii)] A lathe tool-holder which may rotate about the axis of the work or wherein the work is rotated about its own axis is adapted for forming on the work a surface of non-circular crosssection and is characterized in that a toolsupporting element is moved towards and away from the work the latter extending within an annular tool driving member provided on its inner peripheral face with a series of angularly disposed abutments engaging successively with a follower on the tool-supporting element. The subject-matter of this Specification is substantially the same so that described in Specification 601,592 but the claims differ and the present Specification also includes the feature that the tool may be rotated around a stationary workpiece to effect the cutting or forming action. |
