Production of a stream of air with defined relative humidity comprises introducing hot steam into a stream of air in a pipe arrangement (8) to obtain hot moist air that is passed through a water separator (20) to reduce its temperature, heating the moist air leaving the water separator to a specific temperature to reduce the relative humidity to a defined value, and removing the heated moist air as a stream of moist air from the pipe arrangement. An independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the above process.
