PURPOSE: A service user authentication system and a method thereof are provided to intensify user authentication for multiple terminals by using the specific information of an application, which is stored in a gateway device, to authenticate users. CONSTITUTION: A user terminal (100) is installed with an application (150) for using a service; and configured to transmit a service request message and the specific information of the application together with a telephone number when the service is used. A gateway unit (200) receives the telephone number and specific information of the application; judges whether the received telephone number and the received specific information of the application correspond to the stored telephone number and the stored specific information of the application or not; and performs the nominee authentication for a user of the telephone number in case the received specific information of the application does not correspond to the stored specific information of the application. The gateway unit provides service data corresponding to a service request message to a user terminal in case the nominee authentication is successfully performed.
