A nested handbag set comprises an outer handbag 10 with a removable inner bag 11, wherein the bags may be separated and used independently of each other. Each bag may comprise respective closure means, 21, 28-29, a handle or strap 25 and a means for fastening the inner bag to the outer handbag 26a, 26b. This fastening may be in the form of a zipper, snaps, magnetic fasteners, or other suitable means. Additional outer handbags made from alternative materials may also be provided. The inner bag further comprises a fold-over flap 32, which can be used to close and secure the bag when used independently, or folded away or removed to allow access when the inner and outer bags are attached. Each bag can be provided with additional detachable adjustable straps or handles, which can be stored in enclosure 30 between the two bags when combined.
