<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device in which disconnection or the like of a wire in a drive circuit part and breakage of components during falling of the illumination device can be prevented. <P>SOLUTION: In the illumination device including: a light source module 1 having an LED as a light source; a metallic heat dissipating part 2 on which the light source module 1 is mounted and which dissipates heat from the light source module 1; and a base 4 which is installed on one side of the heat dissipating part 2 via a cylindrical insulation case 3 composed of resin, a metal case 6 is installed in the interior of the insulation case 3 as a reinforcing member.
