PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance performance effects when the display for performance is started especially by a display means out of prescribed performances pertaining to the progress of games. SOLUTION: In each game when the game is not controlled to the big bonus state or the regular bonus state, a background image consisting of moving images of characters is displayed on a liquid crystal display device according to a performance stage selected, while vocal sounds of characters' lines and those of BGM are reproduced to be output from a loudspeaker. The distribution of the performance stages is made when the start lever is operated in each game while the game is not controlled to the big bonus state or the regular bonus state. When a new performance stage is selected, the reproduction and outputting of the BGM are started corresponding to the performance stage newly selected at the timing as given. In this case, a white image is shown on the liquid crystal display device 4 only for a fixed period of time from the timing and then, the background image corresponding to the new performance stage is displayed.
