PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an armrest which prevents breakage of a support mechanism and lowering of holding force. SOLUTION: A support mechanism 50 includes a fixed support part 51 unrotatably provided with respect to a seat to rotatably support the armrest body 10, and a variable support part 52 which is provided at the fixed support part 51 and whose attitude is variable in the rotation direction of the armrest body 10. The support mechanism 50 also includes a holding part 53 with a plurality of holding tooth parts 75 which is provided at the armrest body 10 while facing the rotation center side of the armrest body 10 and arranged in an internally toothed gear shape centering on the rotation center. Further, the support mechanism 50 includes a stopper part 54 provided on the circumferential surface of the variable holding part 52, arranged in an outer gear shape correspondingly to the internally toothed gear formed with the holing tooth part 75, and having a plurality of support tooth parts 77 to be meshed with the holding tooth parts 75 in the holding attitude of the variable support part 52.
