METHOD FOR CRYOPRESERVING NUCLEATED CELLS OF CORD BLOOD, IN PARTICULAR HEMOPOIETIC FOUNDER CELLS

A method for cryopreserving nucleated cells of cord blood, in particular hemopoietic founder cells, includes adding a solution of a cryoprotecting agent to a cell suspension at 0- and programme freezing up to -60…- with the further merging into liquid nitrogen. The nonpenetrating cryoprotecting agent polyethylene oxide of a molecular weight of 1500, prepared on a physiological solution of sodium chloride, is used as the cryoprotecting agent. Adding of the solution of the cryoprotecting agent to the cell suspension is carried out by dropping for 20 min till a final concentration of the cryoprotecting agent in the cell suspension of 10 %. Freezing up to a temperature of -60…- is carried out at a speed of 5…5.5 °C/min with the further 10-minute exposure at said temperature.
