摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device which, even when the number of paths between transmitting and receiving terminals is unknown and a method of how packets are distributed to each path is also unknown, can determine whether there is a lack of packets. SOLUTION: There is provided a communication device which comprises: a packet receiving unit; a path counts estimation unit which calculates by estimation the number of paths in a network from the order in which received packets have been received; a path count estimated packet counts calculation unit which calculates the number of path count estimated packets; a first omission determination unit which determines a packet which has been lost in the middle of a path; a second omission determination unit which determines a packet which has been lost in the middle of the path; a packet retention unit which retains a packet received by the packet receiving unit; and a response unit which, from the sequence number of a packet retained in the packet retention unit and that of a packet determined to have been lost by at least one of the first and the second determination units, requests a transmitting terminal that the omitted packet be retransmitted.
