PURPOSE: A sliding liquid level detecting device is provided to fundamentally suppress the formation of silver sulfide by reducing the content of silver contained in a sliver-palladium alloy forming an electrode. CONSTITUTION: A sliding liquid level detecting device includes a float (12), a sliding contact point (21), and a plurality of strip electrodes. The float is changed depending on the level of liquid fuel. The sliding contact point is slid by being interlocked with the movement of the float. The strip electrode is in contact with the sliding contact point. The electrode is formed of a sliver-palladium alloy containing a glass component. The sliding contact point is formed of a palladium-nickel alloy.
