PURPOSE: An optical fiber grating strain sensor is provided to facilitate the installation of the sensor regardless of the surface state of a target object and to correct errors of a measurement point. CONSTITUTION: An optical fiber grating strain sensor includes fixtures (6), a protecting pipe (1), a ball, the upper portion (4) of a fixing plate, a lower portion (5) of the fixing plate, and a fastening bolt (2). The fixtures are arranged on both end portions while the distance between target objects for measuring the strain is maintained. The protecting pipe is arranged between fixtures on both sides of a measurement section and fixed by a protecting and setting maintaining screw (3) while an end portions of the protecting pipe are inserted into the fixtures. The optical fiber grating sensor is linearly positioned on the inner central portion of the protecting pipe. Both end portions of the optical fiber grating sensor are fixed by a fixing agent while being extended inside the fixtures. The upper and lower parts of the fixing plate touch the inner circumference of the ball. The fastening bolt couples the upper and lower parts of the fixing plate and fastens.
