<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antithrombogenic material where adhesion of platelets and activation of blood coagulation factors are both reduced. <P>SOLUTION: The antithrombogenic material is made of a carbon film formed on the surface of a base material. The antithrombogenic material comprises a film body formed of carbons mutually combined, and nitrogen functional group and carboxyl group introduced into the film body.
