PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for saving user's trouble when shutting down the apparatus, and preventing an image on a sheet, which has been fixed, from being deteriorated when turning on a power supply next. SOLUTION: When off-operation of a power supply switch 103 is detected, the image forming apparatus performs shut-down processing by turning off a 12V power supply system when predetermined time elapses after a 24V power supply system of the power supply 109 is turned off, and a fixing motor 104 is driven to separate a fixing roller from a pressure roller by the 12V power supply system within the predetermined time.
