WHITE-LED DEVICE USING SURFACE PLASMON RESONANCE OF METALLIC NANOPARTICLE

PURPOSE: A white light emitting diode device using the surface plasmon resonance of a metal nanoparticle is provided to improve the light conversion properties of a phosphor or a quantum dot by using the surface plasmon resonance of the metal nanoparticle. CONSTITUTION: A blue light emitting diode chip (115) emits blue light. A resin layer (140) is formed on the blue light emitting diode chip. The resin layer includes at least one phosphor (130) and at least one metal nanoparticle (135). The phosphor absorbs the blue light from the blue light emitting diode chip. The metal nanoparticle forms an electric field on the phosphor by generating the surface plasmon resonance of light with a different wavelength.
