The overlap assembly has first and second plank portions (22,23) made of metal, which are provided with tread portions and through holes. A screw head of a safety screw (20) is connected to the through hole of first plank portion without plastic deformation. The safety screw is inserted into the through holes of the plank portions so that the plank portions are positively connected to each other. The plank portions are arranged one above the other such that tread portions of the plank portions partially overlap each other. An independent claim is included for scaffold.
