METHOD FOR PREPARING HIGH PURITY SILICA USING REVERSE FLOTATION

PURPOSE: A method of preparing high purity silica is provided to be able to separate non-magnetic minerals and to manufacture high purity silica with a high recovery rate of concentrate. CONSTITUTION: Raw minerals for preparing high purity silica include silica and impurity minerals other than silica. A method of preparing high purity silica comprises a raw mineral analysis step including mineral component analysis of the raw minerals; a crushing and pulverizing step of crushing or pulverizing the raw minerals; a physical purification step of purifying to have the impurity mineral content of 1-5 weight% with a physical method; a zeta potential measurement step of measuring the zeta potential after reference samples of each impurity mineral analyzed in the raw mineral analysis step are added in water; a collector selection step of selecting a first collector from the reference samples, which has the opposite electric charge to the zeta potential of a first reference sample, and floats on the first reference sample; and a first reverse flotation step of floating the raw minerals and the first collector in water, and removing the floated first impurity mineral.
