PURPOSE: A radiation detector and a radiation detecting method provides various information to a user while increasing a radiation absorbing rate by using radiation having a plurality of energy levels. CONSTITUTION: A radiation detector includes a radiation source (100), a radiation detecting unit (200), and a signal processing unit (300). The radiation source emits first radiation and second radiation having different energy levels. The radiation detecting unit generates a pair of electron-to-holes by the incident first and second radiations, thereby outputting signals depending on optical paths of the first and second radiations. The signal processing unit generates output signals having information of the optical paths of the first and second radiations and the information of the intensity of the first and second radiations at the optical paths of the first and second radiations.
