PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a retarder is provided to improve the quality of the retarder by forming an orientation layer and a liquid crystal layer on a fine structure. CONSTITUTION: A pattern mask is removed. A fine structure (220) is formed on a substrate. An orientation layer (23) is formed on the fine structure. A liquid crystal layer (24) is formed on the orientation layer. The liquid crystal layer is oriented by the orientation layer. The liquid crystal layer is hardened. |
