PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for determining whether or not a movable object comes in and out are provided to save investing expense as one receiving unit determines whether or not a movable object comes in or out. CONSTITUTION: A first transmission unit (104) is installed at one side of an entry, and discharges a first pulse on a first cycle. A second transmission unit (106) is installed in a space, and discharges a second pulse which has phase difference from the first pulse. A receiving unit (108) is installed at an opposite side to a surface where the first transmission unit installed. The receiving unit selectively receives a mixed pulse according to the movement of an object. A determining unit (112) determines whether or not the movable object comes in or out based on the changes in the wave pattern of the pulse.
