PURPOSE: A bio-information monitoring system and a bio-information monitoring method using the same are provided to reduce current consumption than an apparatus having an identical function and to be easily put on a round site such as a wrist by applying few light emitting elements and light receiving elements. CONSTITUTION: A light emitting unit (10) outputs red light or infrared rays and a light receiving unit (11) receives the red light or the infrared rays which are reflected or transmitted from a bio-specific site and converts them into an electric signal. A bio-information output unit (20) produces bio-information from the electric signal and an image sensor unit (30) exposures the red light which is reflected from a vein of the bio-specific site and obtains a vein image. A vein pattern extracting unit (40) extracts a pattern of the vein from the vein image. A storing unit stores a normal value region for a first vein pattern and the bio-information corresponding to the first vein pattern.
