<p>PURPOSE: A method for controlling the temperature of a glow plug is provided to improve temperature control quality by precisely allocating the surface temperature of the glow plug to heating current measured at a given voltage. CONSTITUTION: In a method for controlling the temperature of a glow plug, the surface temperature of the glow plug is heated to a target value with a pulse width modulation (PWM) method. At that time, heat flow flowing through a heat resistor of the glow plug and a voltage applied to the glow plug are measured. The surface temperature value of the glow plug is allocated to a value pair composed of the voltage value and current value by a calculation rule. About a relation between the heating current measured at the given voltage and the surface temperature of the glow plug, the calculation rule considers influences affected from the changed temperature of current conductive components which are connected to the heating resistor in the glow plug.</p> |
