A compression spring 12 in the housing maintains the selenium or copper oxide rectifier discs, arranged for full-wave or half-wave rectification, in pressure contact. End or intermediate terminals of the stack are formed as spirals 15 having lateral displacement for resilient pressure contact, the enlarged spiral giving an enlarged contact area.
