PURPOSE: A mobile terminal using the position and the trajectory of touch motion and a method thereof are provided to display a control window that is capable of controlling a content that is displayed on a touch screen, thereby conveniently controlling the content and the mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: A touch screen (151) obtains the touch motion of a user, and a control unit (180) displays a control window that operates a content which is displayed on a touch screen based on the location and the trajectory of the touch motion. The touch motion is drag touch motion that is achieved in an edge area including the edge of the touch screen, and the control unit displays, on the control window, the content that is displayed on the touch screen. The control unit operates the displayed content by responding to the touch motion with respect to the control window.
