PURPOSE: A secondary battery is provided to improve lifetime, battery performance, and reliability by preventing the deterioration of a secondary battery. CONSTITUTION: A secondary battery (100) includes an electrode assembly (10) formed of a first and second electrode plate and a separator; a gas collecting part (110) adjacent to the electrode assembly; and a battery case (16) accommodating the gas collecting part and the electrode assembly. The gas collecting part consists of a first collecting part (111) collecting gas generated from the inside of the battery case and a second collecting part (112) surrounding the first collecting gas. The electrode assembly includes a first and a second electrode tab connected to the first and second electrode plate respectively. The first and second electrode tabs (14,15) are separated from each other and are drawn out from the electrode assembly in parallel. |
