PURPOSE: An expansion joint device and a construction method are provided to reduce vibration generated in the expansion joint device and prevent a leakage by preventing the expansion joint device and concrete from being damaged. CONSTITUTION: An expansion joint device and a construction method reducing time traffic control, preventing a leakage, and reinforcing earthquake-proof performances comprises a main body (10), a joint unit (20), and a connection unit (30). The main body is manufactured in a length corresponding to the width of a road and a shoulder of a road of a structure. The joint unit is included on both sides of the main body in order to connect the main body and the other main body which is adjacent to the main body. The joint unit includes a connection pad, a connection plate, a bolt member, and a convergence pad. The convergence pad is installed on both sides of the connection plate and receives a tensile force and a compressive force. |
