PURPOSE: A light emitting device having improved light extraction efficiency and a method for fabricating the same are provided to increase the current by forming a light scattering pattern in a first conductivity type clad layer. CONSTITUTION: The refractive index of a light scattering pattern (14) is different from the refractive index of a first conductivity type clad layer (13). An active layer is positioned on the lower part of the first conductivity type clad layer. A second conductive clad layer (17) is positioned on the lower part of the active layer. The first electrode is electrically connected to the first conductivity type clad layer. The second electrode is electrically connected to the second conductive clad layer. |
