The invention relates to a conveyor wagon (20) for a shunting conveyor system, the position of which conveyor wagon (20) can be determined in a way which is comparatively simple and therefore cost-effective to implement, and is at the same time particularly robust in terms of operational practice. For this purpose, the conveyor wagon (20) according to the invention has at least one proximity sensor (30; 31-34) for detecting the approaching of the conveyor wagon (20) to a position element (70-73; 74-77) arranged on the track side. The invention also comprises a shunting conveyor system.
