The measuring device (1) has a base body (2) for attaching on a reference point, where the base body has two through holes parallel to each other, where the through holes are extended in the direction of the reference point and are arranged in pins (3,4) in a slidably movable manner. The pins stand both sides of the base body. The pins are connected on the sides of the base body over a connecting body (5), where the sides face the reference point. The former pin is fixedly connected with the connecting body. An independent claim is also included for a method for measuring a height difference with a measuring device.
