The invention relates to a distance measuring device for motor vehicles, in particular vans and estate cars with which precise detection of the distance between a motor vehicle and an obstacle is made easily possible even when the tailgate is open. A distance-measuring device according to the invention has for this purpose at least one distance-detection means for detecting a distance between the motor vehicle and an obstacle which is located in the potential movement range thereof. The distance-detection means is for this purpose arranged on a tailgate of a motor vehicle of the generic type. |
