PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic toner in which shapes of toner base particles can be controlled, both of low-temperature fixability and heat-resistant storage property can be achieved in a high level and excellent cleaning property and high picture quality can be obtained, in a toner using a crystalline resin as a substantial main component of a resin component.SOLUTION: The electrophotographic toner is obtained through steps of: preparing an emulsion dispersion liquid including emulsified particles by dissolving or dispersing a toner composition comprising a binder resin or a binder resin and a binder resin precursor as a resin component and further containing a colorant in an organic solvent to produce an oil phase, and emulsifying or dispersing the oil phase in an aqueous medium; granulating toner base particles by converging the emulsified particles; and removing the organic solvent. The step of granulating the toner base particles includes a step of controlling the circularity of the toner base particles by controlling the temperature of the emulsion dispersion liquid. The resin component includes a crystalline resin by 50 mass% or more in the whole resin component. The toner base particles have an average circularity of 0.940 to 0.980. |
