PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device and an image forming apparatus without requiring a filter or a meandering passage in a path for releasing pressure.SOLUTION: There is provided a developing device 20 which comprises: a main space 210 in which a first conveyance path 211 for conveying a developer is formed at the lower part of the space; a second conveyance path 212 aligned on the side of the first conveyance path 211; a discharge path 214 which extends continuously and cylindrically to the end part of the second conveyance path 212; a storage container 21 for storing a developer; a first stirring and conveying member 25 disposed in the first conveyance path 211; a second stirring and conveying member 26 disposed in the second conveyance path 212; developer conveying members (24 and 25) for conveying a developer in the main space to a body 11 to be developed by rotation; and a stirring member 27 for dropping the developer which is conveyed from the body to be developed and returned to the developer conveying members (24 and 25) on the first conveyance path while stirring, wherein the storage container further has a ventilation passage 29 which is opened to the main space 210 at the upper part of the stirring member 27 and continued to the second conveyance path. |
