A single fuel cell (FC), a plurality of which are to be stacked to form a fuel cell stack (FS), includes a membrane electrode assembly (M) having a structure including paired electrode layers (2, 3) and an electrolyte membrane (1) held between the paired electrode layers (2, 3), paired separators (5A, 5B) each forming a gas passage (4A, 4B) between the separator (5A, 5B) and the membrane electrode assembly (M), and a displacement absorber (6) having a conductive property and interposed between one separator (5A) of the single fuel cell (FC) and an adjacent-side separator of another single fuel cell to be stacked adjacent to the single fuel cell (FC). The displacement absorber is connected to at least one of the separators (5A, 5B). The invention provides a fuel cell stack wherein the electrical contact resistance between adjacent single fuel cells (FC) is reliably reduced. |
