Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and an apparatus for stabilizing a target object image in a video. The method comprises the following steps: first, capturing one frame image or multiple frame images in a video; detecting a target object in the captured images and acquiring image information of the target object, the image information comprising one or more of size information, position information, and color information of the target object; matching the acquired image information of the target object with preset image information, and if matching, then no processing is performed; if not matching, then adjusting the target object to make the adjusted image information of the target object match with the preset image information; and displaying the matched one frame image or multiple frame images. The method enables target object image stabilization in a video communication, improves the video communication effect and saves the code rate of codec and/or the bandwidth in the video communication. |
