A method for manufacturing an optical substrate comprises: a step (S0) for preparing a long film-shaped mold (80a); a step (S1) for preparing a sol solution; a step (S2) for forming a coating film (42) of the sol solution on the substrate; a step (S3) for drying the coating film; a step (S4) for pressing the pattern surface of the film-shaped mold against the dried coating film by a pressing roll (22) while feeding the film-shaped mold to the pressing roll; a step (S5) for peeling the film-shaped mold from the coating film; and a step (S6) for baking the coating film to which the concavo-convex pattern is transferred.
