[Problem] To provide an antistatic element wherein there is no separation of the discharge electrode, initial shorting faults are suppressed, there is little variability of peak voltage, and, furthermore, that has excellent mass production characteristics. [Solution] An antistatic element (100) comprising an insulating laminated body (11), discharge electrodes (12, 13) arranged facing one another and separated from one another in the insulating laminated body (11), and a discharge inducing section (14) arranged in the area including the region between the discharge electrodes (12, 13), wherein a material that is not sintered at the temperature at which the insulating laminated body (11) is fired is employed as an insulating inorganic material in the discharge inducing section.
