PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cyclone type vacuum cleaner capable of detecting dust amount.SOLUTION: Provided is a vacuum cleaner having: a dust collecting container 23, disposed removably on the intake side of an electric blower 2 contained in a cleaner body 21, for separating and collecting dust by swirling it around; and a heat insulating material 33 covering a heater 15b and a temperature sensing means 15a abutting on an outer wall of the dust collecting container 23. The dust amount collected in the dust collecting container 23 is estimated based on at least either a temperature rise speed of the temperature sensing means 15a when there is a power supply to the heater 15b or a temperature decreasing speed of the temperature sensing means 15a when the power supply to the heater 15b has stopped. The heat quantity generated from the heater 15b is transmitted to the dust collecting container 23 and simultaneously transmitted also to the dust therearound. Therefore, the temperature rise speed of the temperature sensing means 15a while power is supplied to the heater 15b and the its temperature decreasing speed after the power supply to the heater 15b is stopped are changeable depending on the dust amount. By making use of this fact, it is possible to estimate the dust amount. |
