CONTENT DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM AND CONTENT DISTRIBUTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable content distribution only when a short-range communication is established and perform streaming distribution of contents.SOLUTION: A content distribution system comprises: a content reception device 40 that obtains and reproduces a distributed content; an IC chip 50 that stores authentication information of the content reception device 40 and outputs the stored authentication information; a read device 30 that reads the authentication information by communication with the IC chip 50; and a content distribution server 20 that performs authentication of the content reception device 40 by using the authentication information that is read by the read device 30, and distributes a content to the authenticated content reception device 40. The IC chip 50 and read device 30 have a short-range communication function. When a short-range communication is established between the IC chip 50 and the read device 30, the IC chip 50 outputs the stored authentication information and the read device 30 reads the output authentication information.
