PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat insulating structure showing excellent heat insulation performance, rigidity and reliability, and suitable to engine parts facing a combustion chamber with large pressure variation.SOLUTION: A heat insulating structure 21 is formed by stacking a plurality of plates 22. The plates 22 are stacked so as to form air heat insulating layers 25 between arbitrary two adjacent plates 22 while the plates 22 are connected to each other via a plurality of projections 23 provided on at least one of surfaces facing each other across the air heat insulating layers 25 formed between the plates 22. The projections 23 provided on at least the one facing surface is connected to the other opposite face facing the opposite face provided with the projections 23 across the air heat insulating layers 25.
