A refrigerator equipped with: a refrigerator main body (1) having multiple storage compartments; multiple doors for opening/closing the multiple storage compartments; and an RFID tag (21) that performs proximity communication. The RFID tag (21) is provided in the uppermost of the multiple doors. Thus, it is possible to provide a highly reliable refrigerator (100) that prevents communication failures, contamination of a portable terminal (22), and the like, which are characteristic of the refrigerator (100), for which moisture or contamination from food items spills out easily when the food items are stored or removed.
