PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel component for case hardening, which is obtained hot-forged into a component shape, exhibiting excellent machinability, reduced in contents of Ni, Cr and Mo used conventionally as a hardenability enhancing element, and capable of enhancing a strength after carbonization-hardeneing treatment.SOLUTION: This steel component for case hardening is a steel component for case hardening after hot-forging, into a component shape, steel containing C, Si, Mn, P, S, Cu, Ni, Cr, Al, N, B, Ti and O, and the remainder comprising iron and inevitable impurities, and a metal texture satisfies the condition of 35-70 area% of ferrite, 30-65 area% of pearlite, and 5 area% or less (including 0 area%) of bainite, in the bar steel for case hardening. |
