This object detection device (104) detects a target object (102) in front of a vehicle (103) on the basis of an image of outside the vehicle, captured by imaging devices (105, 106) mounted on the vehicle; and calculates the relative distance to the target object (102) or the relative speed. The object detection device (104) is characterized by having a risk factor determination unit (111) that determines if there is a risk factor present that is a travel risk for the vehicle (103), on the basis of the image.
