A guide wire (1) comprises: a wire body (10) which is provided with a linear first wire (2) disposed on the distal end side and also with a linear second wire (3) disposed on the proximal end side of the first wire (2) and consisting of a material having higher rigidity than the material forming the first wire (2), the wire body (10) having a joint section (14) formed between the proximal end surface (241) of the first wire (2) and the distal end surface (311) of the second wire (3); a flexible outer member (5) which is disposed on the outer peripheral side of the wire body (10) and which has a tube-like shape covering the wire body (10) from the distal end of at least the first wire (2) to the joint section (14); and an inner member (4A) which is disposed between the outer periphery of the wire body (10) and the inner periphery of the outer member (5) and which covers the joint section (14). The inner member (4A) is an inner coil which is formed by winding, in a coil-like shape, a wire (41) for the inner member. |
