The invention relates to mechanical engineering and can be used in the production and use of shock absorbers. The aim of the invention is to improve the damping properties of a shock absorber, wherein the vehicle shock absorber comprises a casing, a piston cover, a rod cover, a rod, and a piston with a seal, the casing being designed so that in the area adjacent to the piston cover of the shock absorber, the interior chamber of the casing comprises five narrowings, and the rod, in the area adjacent to the rod end which is free of the piston, comprises two widenings; and the casing is designed so that in the area adjacent to the rod cover of the shock absorber, the interior chamber of the casing comprises five narrowings, and the rod comprises two widenings in the piston area. The technical results are: a significant increase in the force counteracting the movement of the piston in the casing in the areas adjacent to the covers of the shock absorber; the engagement of two lateral surfaces of the seal during the movement of the piston in these areas; and also the engagement of two lateral surfaces of the seal for the rod. |
