PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of producing methylacetylene in good yield and to provide a catalyst suited for the production method.SOLUTION: A method for producing methylacetylene includes isomerizing propadiene in the presence of a catalyst of an alkali metal compound supported on γ-alumina having an average pore radius of 4.5 nm or more. The catalyst used for isomerizing propadiene to produce methylacetylene is a catalyst of an alkali metal compound supported on γ-alumina having an average pore radius of 4.5 nm or more. |
