PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of improving separability of a recording medium from the fixing device, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A fixing device according to the present invention includes: an endless fixing belt 21 that has flexibility; a heater 25 that heats the fixing belt 21; a pressure roller 31 that comes into pressure contact with the fixing belt 21; a nip forming member 26 that is included in the fixing belt 21, and presses the fixing belt 21 against the pressure roller 31 to form a nip part; and a contact member 28 that contacts the fixing belt 21 from the outside of the fixing belt 21 at an exit of the nip part.
