PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sub chamber type gas engine capable of changing a gas pressure acting on a sub chamber without generating delay to the generation of a new operation state.SOLUTION: A sub chamber type gas engine 1 having a main pressure adjusting valve 12 for adjusting a gas pressure acting on a sub chamber 2b in a channel 8 for supplying fuel gas to the sub chamber 2b has an OFF channel 16 branched from the channel 8 and merging with the channel 8, an opening/closing valve 17 arranged on the OFF channel 16, an ON channel 18 branched from the channel 8 and merging with the channel 8, and an orifice 19 arranged on the ON channel 18, and further has a pressure adjusting unit 13 arranged in the channel 8 between the main pressure adjusting valve 12 and the sub chamber 2b, a load charging detector (rotational frequency detector 4 and controller 7) for detecting the generation of load charging, and a controller 7 temporarily closing the opening/closing valve 17 when the generation of load charging is detected, the opening/closing valve 17 discretely changes the opening of the OFF channel 16 to opening or closing. |
